There’s still too much of me selfishly wanting to be seen and heard

. . . silently now I wait for Thee, Ready my God Thy will to see

Open my eyes illumine me, Spirit divine . . .*

Away from faithless chatter, needless concern and deceitful charm

Fix my focus above and beyond

I will watch and wait and I’ll see your return

As the first warmth of sunrise arrives with the dawn

Your promised return

The victorious shout finally heard

Your glorious kingdom come

As sure and certain as your Word

Like your good friend Lazarus, You call us out

Out of the grave clothes, out of the stench

The sweet fragrance of life

The complete sense of rest

At home in your kingdom, no more wandering sheep

Forever gathered in your righteousness, peace, and joy

All for your glory we each live and breathe

You call us by name and we all know your voice

Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.” (Matthew 3:2)
