Waking Up at Home

Before my eyes have opened

A question in me roams

Could this be the morning

I wake up at home?

I know the day is coming

I’ve known it for so long

It’s always getting nearer

The chorus to a pilgrim song

There’s no weariness in waiting

It’s this hope that keeps me strong

Sure anticipation of the morning

That I wake up at home

I know that soon I’ll find myself

Taking steps down streets I’ve never known

Walking through the Kingdom

After waking up at home

“The Lord will keep you from all harm -

he will watch over your life; the Lord

will watch over your coming and going
