Time and Eternity

All I have is in my life
Stages one and two
Running simultaneously
Both ordained by You
I look back across the first stage
And see your blessings everywhere
Even when I barely knew You
I knew You were always there
Born in sin, a deadly fallen nature
Prone to wander, prone to sway
Led by a guide called wanderlust
My only reservation - don't get lured too far away
Some could say my life's been sheltered
In some ways that would be true
But the truest claim will always be
My shelter is in You
Nearing the end of time allotted
For living in stage one
Stage two is coming into focus
As old ways come undone
." . . your life is hidden with Christ in God."
Colossians 3:3
