An ounce of prevention
I could never get your attention
Even when I tried to give you mine
Pleasant, proper greetings
Exchanged upon each meeting
Not exactly what I’d call the tie that binds
The house I couldn’t seem to give away
So I walked on and let it stay
Fading rapidly, into its final status
As one more thing of the past
That was never meant to last
It served its intended purpose
Once again it’s time to walk away
But circumstances clearly say
What I’m heading to, my only goal
Unattached to what I’m leaving
No bitterness, no regrets, older without weariness
Nothing in the past is worthy of retrieving
Wise enough not to speak so much
To hear your voice and know your touch
A pilgrim’s treasure
To know the pleasure
Of pleasing You
Simply by believing
"And without faith it is impossible to please God . . ."
(Hebrews 11:6)
