Capsized in the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit came upon me
In a mighty way
As I began to listen
To what He was sent to say
He brought gifts that He’d been holding
Until the time was right
A bridle for my tongue
A breeze that gently whispers, sweet songs in the night
A glimpse of understanding
For the moment incomplete
Like holy coals upon my lips
He taught me what and when to speak
Hush is more than just a word
In a mother’s lullaby
It’s a high command to hold your tongue
Silence is the evidence of your obedient reply
When I began to listen
I began to hear
As I stepped down from my position
Perfect love cast out all my fears
The Holy Spirit came upon me
In a mighty way
As I began to listen
To what He was sent to say
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness . . . (Genesis 1:1 <--> Revelation 22:21)
