Bit Your Tongue

See what harm a lie can do, simply take a look around you
Pick today or yesterday or any time in history
Look to the east or west, the north or south
Or look no further than the untamed tongue in your own mouth
And see it’s no real mystery
My pride has no defense to support my accusation
That the biggest lies come from celebrities and leaders of the nations
The stone I hold until it’s cast, will not be thrown today
My empty words are hard to swallow as I learn there’s nothing left for me to say
My tongue is learning patience
If we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us,
we guide their whole bodies as well. (James 3:3)
