A Lookout Spot

A window into heaven
Heaven’s window into my soul
Onward, upward climbs my gaze
Deeper inward stretch your sunlight’s rays
Destroying darkness where it hides
In hateful shadows in clouded minds
At your command as You have planned
“Let there be light.” Let there be light!
And still the darkness will not comprehend
Hopeless, heartless darkness holding fallen, blinded men
Released into your eternal, living light
We must be born again
“The lamp of the body is the eye; if therefore your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be filled with darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!” (Matthew 6:22-23)
“Arise, shine; for your light has come,
And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.” (Isaiah 60:1)
