Still in Kansas, but naught to worry Toto

(To the well-intentioned worries of my friends)
There’s a roaring lion on the road to Oz
Seeking to intimidate or devour
To fill weak and weary hearts with worry, doubt and fear
A cowardly liar that’s for certain
A man behind a curtain
Who manipulates appearances with half-truths, smoke and mirrors
The consequences of our debt
Go deeper than our deep regrets
Without eyes to see the futility just keeps growing
Since we’ll never know how much we owe
It’s safe to say we won’t repay
Ours will be the harvest of the seeds that we’ve been sowing
It’s easy but it’s not cheap
He settled the accounts we could not pay
And in place of buying time we could not negotiate
He provided a new and better way
Settled once forever and for all
At the appointed time, on the appointed date
Don’t lean to your fearful lack of understanding
Do what’s best, find your rest
Be weaned away from your anxieties
Like Jesus on the stormy sea
In the stern of the boat, safely afloat
Calm and confident, peacefully at ease
With a guilty plea, I rest my case
Sentenced to a life of grace
No longer searching for direction
Dying to myself, now owned by someone else
I rest in peace, I’m not deceased
But expectantly await the resurrection
"Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."
1 Peter 5:7
